One of our favorite New England autumn traditions is apple picking. This year, we decided to try a new orchard. One of my amazing college roommates, Shawna, is now living in New Hampshire with her husband, Andy, and their little girl, Marita, who is just a little younger than Hunter. We picked an orchard up near them to check out, and it was so much fun.
The orchard was HUGE. We had fun taking a hayride down to where the apple trees are and picking more apples than we know what to do with (three apple crisps later, we are still drowning in apples). They also had animals, apple cider donuts, face painting, and pumpkins. All this, plus the chance to catch up with friends that we haven't seen in so long and to meet sweet little Marita. Harper especially loved running through the rows of apples with Marita; they are definitely cute little friends. Later that weekend, Harper kept talking about how she and Marita are going to go to college together. Hunter just loved running around, period--not to mention being surrounded by infinite snacks.
It's fun having CA friends living so close to us, and we are already looking forward to some more adventures together. And some more apple crisps...
